Introduction

Hello everyone!  My name is Zach Moore.  I am 24 years old and from southern Indiana.  I was just hired in August as a strength coach at Indianapolis Fitness and Sports Training (IFAST) – named one of the top 10 gyms in the U.S. by Men’s Health magazine in 2009 and 2010.  Needless to say, I was super excited for the opportunity to work under and learn from the two IFAST owners - Mike Robertson and Bill Hartman.  If you haven’t heard of them definitely check out their stuff; they are super smart guys!
I completed an internship at IFAST this past summer and learned a ton!  I wanted to start a blog to detail what I am learning now and my thoughts as a new coach.  I hope that it will be beneficial for up and coming fitness professionals, current fitness professionals, and anyone who is interested in fitness, health, and sports performance.  Enjoy!
I am new to blogging so please be patient as I am sure my writing and post layouts will not be the prettiest initially.  Feel free to leave any comments or suggestions on my posts or things you would like to see me discuss.

  1. Congrats Zach!

It would be great to hear about the transition from an intern to a full time strength coach.

Also... As you are just getting into the industry (in a full time role) it would be cool to hear about the ups/downs, lessons learned, etc...

    Best of luck!

    Matthew

  2. Good stuff Zach. I look forward to following your blog. I am in a very similar position to you. I am 25 and just graduated college last May. I interned at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning and was hired after that. Best of luck with everything.
